Jennifer Blake was not a happy camper nor was I. He was driving like a maniac. A Chevy pickup no less. He’d asked Mrs. Cho to have someone pick us up when we landed, but somehow that had gotten lost in translation and instead she’d rented him a pickup truck. As mad as I was at him, I’d do anything to see my metrosexual hero behind the wheel of this vehicle. That man in a pickup truck was like Batman in an RV. “We need to find a Wal-Mart,” he grumbled. “Why?” I gritted. I was still blindfolded and handcuffed, and I had no clue where I was except I knew it wasn’t some romantic island. I waited impatiently for his response. “So, I can buy a chainsaw and saw off your handcuffs.” Gah! The thought of Blake with a chainsaw sent a shiver down my spine. My life could be over. Mr. Born with a Silver Spoon in his Mouth was not exactly what I’d call handy. The only power tools he had any experience with were his tongue, his hands, and his cock. “What about a locksmith?” My voice was urgent. “I’m sure one could make a key to unlock these damn things.” “That’s a good idea, tiger.” “Why don’t you take off my blindfold so I can keep my eyes peeled for one? And where the hell are we anyway?” “That’s not happening. And I’m not telling.” Two minutes later, Blake swerved off the road with a screech. My neck jerked painfully. I think I had whiplash. Horns were blasting at us from all directions. “What the fuck are you doing, Blake? You’re going to get us killed!” “There’s a Wal-Mart straight ahead of us,” he replied brightly. Ten minutes later, Blake was leading me through the bustling mega-store. He had his fingers curled around my neck since holding one of my pinned back, cuffed hands was not an option. I could barely move my fingers. The fucking handcuffs were cutting off my circulation. Oh, was he going to pay for this. Big time!

Excerpt
The curvy redhead behind the counter warmly greets everyone like their old friends, winking and smiling, her iridescent hot pink lipstick unmissable. Her silver nametag bears the name ‘Gabby’. “Well, it’s a good morning now,” the redhead says, her hazel eyes sizing me up when I move to the front of the line. She smirks, and readies her hand on the register. “What’ll it be, honey?” “Large flat white, thanks.” “That’s four dollars, please.” I pay, and she hands me my change, her hot pink fingernails grazing my outstretched palm. The redhead slides a piece of paper across the counter and a small hand from behind the machine takes it. Apart from the noise you wouldn’t even know someone was there with the cups piled high on top. A flash of messy blonde hair dashes out from behind the machine. “Is that take,” she says, and her jaw goes slack as her pretty eyes scan from my chest up to my face. “Huh?” I say, leaning in closer to the counter, taking in an eyeful of her petite body, golden tanned skin against the stark whiteness of her tank top. I don’t miss the growing blush that’s spreading across her freckled cheeks either. She shakes her head and briefly closes her eyes as she huffs out a breath. “Sorry, take-away?” “Nah, think I might stay?” I say and nod. Yep. Definitely staying. “Um, sure. Take a seat,” she says and turns to her colleague. “Gabs, can you give him a number?” “Oh, honey. I’ll give this one a number alright.” I chuckle, and take the number on a metal stand that she hands me. Blondie gives me a tickle of a smile and then returns behind the machine. I lazily wander to the only vacant chair in the corner, and wait impatiently for blondie to deliver my coffee. I’ve got a fuckin’ good feeling I’m gonna enjoy this assignment.

Third time’s a charm, right? Jolene Hayes finds herself spending the summer in the picturesque mountains of Idaho in order to avoid a past fling. It’s a perfect escape, except for the one problem that keeps popping up: a sexy backcountry pilot named Ty Harrison. Jolene tries her hardest to resist his scruffy beard and flannel wearing ways, but eventually rationalizes that a summer fling would just be like the rest of them—love ‘em and leave ‘em and move on with her life. Between these two are secrets that could tear them apart before they even get started, though. Life changes without warning, and dealing with the results leaves Jolene protecting her heart at all costs. Ty knows he is everything Jolene doesn’t want, but he can’t let go of the fiery siren. Throw in the element of wilderness, a small town where secrets can’t hide and the past repeatedly showing up on Jolene’s front porch, the promise of a summer fling becomes complicated.

Some demons can't be shaken off. Some wounds won't heal. Until a pair of hazel eyes knocks you on your ass, and you realize it's time to stop running. Meet Stuart Knight Dec. 29, 2014. #SexyCowboy
Excerpt
One to Leave By Tia Louise *unedited draft, subject to change Release Date: Dec. 29, 2014 Years earlier, behind enemy lines. Long nights, sitting against the wall staring into darkness. We’d shared just about everything to pass the time, to keep from going insane from the monotony combined with the stress of knowing at any time we could be blown up or shot. We were walking targets, and we’d been lucky. “You’re right,” Derek exhaled, looking away again, out at the expanse of beige. “I’m proud of my service, but when the time comes, I’ll walk away.” “You’ve got another road ahead of you.” I didn’t think any less of him. Some guys in this outfit didn’t have the right stuff, the right attitude or the honor, but that could never be said of this guy. “I’m glad we served together.” “Now who’s getting soft?” His deep laugh was the last sound I heard before the staccato CLANK! of a grenade dropped into the space with us. We had seconds, if that long. No time to speak, only time to act. Reaching down, I grabbed it, and threw it as fast and hard as I could. It was just out the window when the BLAST! threw us both against the wall. My back had been curved from the throw, and I hit a bare space. I was winded, but not hurt. Derek was out cold. White smoke filled the room. Our luck had run out, and we were under attack. Shots fired outside as I made my way through the blindness to where his dark body was slumped on the stone floor. Fuck!” I shouted. He was as big as me and twice as heavy, but I’d be damned if I left him. With a deep grunt, I hauled him onto my shoulders. His voice was a groan in my ear. “Stuart. Go on. Go.” “You’re not dying today, soldier,” I shouted back. Months of working out and not much else between the explosions and the darkness had me strong as a damn mule. I went up the short flight of steps to the exit. I had no idea what I’d be stepping into when I went through that door, but they knew we were in here. We couldn’t stay. I held Derek steady on my back as I peered into the smoke and dust filling the air. Two bodies in robes right ahead of us. Not Americans. There wasn’t anything we could do for them, but I would do something for us. A convoy had been preparing to transport the last of us two houses down. If I could make it that far, it was possible we’d be safe. I couldn’t see a damned thing as I made a break for it. My thighs burned with the exertion and the extra weight, and my lungs seized from the smoke. Derek was a fucking dead weight on my back, but I barely noticed with the adrenaline pumping in my veins. I was born for this. Blinking hard, I could just make out the hulking shapes of the armored trucks waiting to take us away. “We’re almost there,” I shouted, even though I was pretty sure he was out again. Taking the first step, I dug in with my heel, trying to gain speed with traction. Combat boots, thirty-seven pounds of weaponry, ordnance, spying shit, and my commanding officer. I ran as fast as I could to the symbol of safety. I was just there when my feet went out from under me. My ears rang with the noise of the explosion, and pain shot like fire through the lower half of my body. I flew forward and landed on my chest in the dirt. I couldn’t stop shaking. It wasn’t fear—it was adrenaline combined with the effort I’d been pushing to get us to safety faster. My brain tilted on its side. The trucks were near, but they couldn’t see us in all the smoke and confusion. Bodies were running all around us. I needed to get up, but I was dazed. God dammit! I was made for this. I tried to force myself to get up, but my body didn’t respond. I was above myself looking down. Derek lay on my back exposed, unprotected. What the fuck was happening to me? I fought against this pansy-assed flake-out. I had to get back down there. I had to carry my brother to safety. I was stronger than this. Somebody had to see us, but the whole place was in confusion. Another whistling rocket, another explosion. I struggled to open my mouth and yell for backup. Nothing came out. I saw a truck jolt and fly back. It was hit. Then, like an old-fashioned television switching off, everything blinked to black. I didn’t see anything anymore.

A cramp stabbing my ribs brought me back to the Here and Now. I was late, and last day or not, Dr. Green would fuss. “My assistants must be punctual,” he’d say. “It’s difficult being the only vet in a farming community.” I exhaled slowly as a bead of sweat tickled a path down the middle of my back, and I tried to keep the dirt out of my Keds. Back when the 911 service came through, most of these roads got numbers or real names besides “Shortcut to the Creek” or “Road Where the Broke-down House Used to Be.” But there were still a few like this one, “Old School Road,” that you only knew what to do with if you grew up in our little town of less than a thousand people. It didn’t matter, though. Strangers never stopped in Dabb Creek. That should’ve been my first warning. If I hadn’t been so focused on being late, I might’ve paid more attention to the strange man standing on the shoulder looking lost. Bad manners or not, I didn’t have time to give directions or to explain how far it was back to town. It wasn’t until I was up on him that I realized he was watching me, studying the pace of my feet. Then I saw the body on the ground. I skipped like a rabbit to the other side of the road, a scream forming in my mouth, but another man sprung up behind me. A rough cloth clamped over my mouth, and in two breaths, everything went dark. © 2014, Leigh T. Moore

The guards moved among us, placing dentist-office Dixie cups of what looked like water in front of everyone. A separate guard came to where I sat on the floor, clutching my knees. She lightly took my arm. “Please return to the table.” Her voice was smooth. “You’ve had a shock. Have some water.” I wasn’t about to drink anything they gave us. It was Day One all over again, only this time, it was Guyana. We were all being served the Kool-Aid. Next stop, mass graves. Stupidly, my friends and fellow prisoners had no such qualms. Didn’t anybody watch the History channel? I stared as they all took shaky sips without hesitation. “Just take a small sip.” The female guard was still with me. “It’ll calm you.” My throat constricted. My whole body was on revolt. Shaking my head, I didn’t meet her eyes. I only stared at the white cup of water. Braxton was at my side, and he drained his. What the hell made him do that? Did he want to die? Seconds ticked past and nothing happened. Nobody passed out. Nobody did anything strange—except forget what we’d just witnessed here. Braxton picked up his fork to finish his lunch. They all did. Like one of us had not just been taken out “swiftly and finally.” Only he had, and I was reeling from the shock. © 2014, Leigh T. Moore

“Race ya there,” I snicker, darting towards the bedroom I moved our clothes into, tossing his bag into the hall.
Let the games begin.
Somehow, he beats me down to the water – imagine that. With steeled armor, I keep my face stoic, my gait and candor unfazed, as I approach, despite the urge to snicker at his bulged-out eyes and jaw dropped into the ocean. And yeah, I noticed his hand dip below the surface to adjust himself; doesn’t always shrink in cold water it would seem. His head jerks left, right, then back to me as his eyes narrow to accusatory slits. “What’re you thinking, Trouble? Public beach,” he sputters. Doe-eyed innocence, my lips twist cleverly. “Not for two miles either direction it isn’t. Besides, what’s the problem?” Surely it’s not my string-thong bikini bottoms and lack of a top? If you told anyone, even Lys who’s known me forever, they’d bet on hell freezing over twice before believing I’m capable of such audacious, brazen antics, but I’m embracing it, rejoicing in the Jocelyn he brings out. Alive; seeing clearly, smelling flowers miles away, hearing the faintest of sounds – like I just started partaking in, and enjoying, the world that’s surrounded me my whole life. His mouth curves upward at the corner, a twinkle in his eyes reflecting off the water as he beckons me to him with the leisurely crook of his finger. “Moi?” I mouth, pointing to myself. My whole body’s buzzing, sexy satisfaction razoring through me as he slowly nods. “Alright,” I huff in feigned inconvenience. I walk into the water as he walks out, hoisting me up as we meet, wrapping my legs around his waist for me. “You’ll be my end, Jocelyn Craig,” he says, almost demurely, almost a frown, heading us backward into the deeper water. “The ending’s supposed to be the best part.” I smile, leaning in to rest my forehead on his. “Do I win the game?” He glances down at my breasts – nipples hardened from the cool water, his tongue lazily tracing his bottom lip. “I’m afraid you just might.”   playlist [spotify id="spotify:user:1265473306:playlist:0glGnsxMdU9DuZcKPzwugt" width="300" height="380" /]   Conspire teaser 1   author bios   erin noelle Erin Noelle is a Texas native, where she lives with her husband and two young daughters.
