Flawed Heart (House of Obsidian #1) By Bella Jewel

I met him in college, and I fell in love.
It was a beautiful love, pure and perfect.
Max quickly became everything I could have ever wanted.
He was the jock, the popular guy, and I was just Belle.
But he made me so much more.
He gave me everything I could have ever wanted in life.
But one night, one accident. It changed everything.
The man I loved. The man I thought I knew...disappeared.
I can't tell you the exact moment he fell out of love with me. But he did.
I wish I could tell you there was hope.
That I hung on. That I fought.
I wish I could tell you that we fixed it.
That happily ever after was just out of our grips.
It wasn’t. I ran. In the dead of the night, I packed my things and I left him.

Five years later, I have returned.
He’s still the same man I left behind.
A deadly underground fighter for the House of Obsidian.
He’s still dangerous. He’s still broken. I still love him.
We're both holding a secret, and that secret might just change everything.
Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe I should have never left.
Did I give up too easily?

This is the part where I’m supposed to turn back around and run…but I don’t.
I can't.

I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly don't know where I was or what I was thinking when I looked at this blurb or the teasers. I honestly thought it was just a new series of Bella's. I love all her work and have never rated anything of hers lower than a 4*.

I started this book, like I said, thinking it was a new series. Which, I suppose it kind of is, but the characters are two I knew very well. I can't believe from all the reading I do with her teasers and sneaky peaks, I didn't clue in on who they were until I started reading this.

We meet Belle in Pippa's book in the Jokers Wrath series, same with Max. I was intrigued about their story and couldn't wait to read it. When I realised who I was reading about I jumped for joy aha

The two have shared a tragic past and although it could have been sorted had the pair communicated better with each other, the two have a lot to get through.
Max is angry that Belle has kept their daughter hidden from him all these years, but she's been heartbroken and alone since she left him all those years ago. When she comes back to look after her sick mom she intends to stay out of his way, but it doesn't go to plan.

The book is written in present tense and past tense. The two met while they were in college and fell in love instantly. They overcome so much and were so deeply in love that they married and moved in together. Not long after Max's father died and he took over his businesses.

Now the two have reunited and their feelings are just as strong and as powerful as they were back then. But can they overcome their pasts? Can they forgive and forget.
Bella Jewel honestly knows how to write a romance novel with a twist. Loved this and would defo recommend it to other readers.

5*
