Ride (Bayonet Scars) By JC Emery

Principessa to the Mancuso crime family, Alexandra knows a thing or two about living outside the bounds of the law. Suffocated by the future her father has laid out for her, she makes a choice she can't take back, changing the entire trajectory of her life.
Thrust into the dark and dangerous world of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club for her own protection, Alex finds herself faced with the last thing she needs right now: the man of her dreams. He’s sex in leather, the devil incarnate, and one hell of a kisser. But he’s also off-limits. Ryan Stone can be her friend, but he’s forbidden to be her lover.

Third-generation Forsaken, Ryan knows nothing other than life on two wheels, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He enjoys the many privileges that come with the patch, and the only laws he recognizes are the ones set-forth by his club. That is, until who he wants more than anything isn’t allowed on the back of his bike —or in his bed. Balancing his desire for her body, and need to keep her safe, Ryan tries to keep Alex at a distance. Finally having made a choice for herself, she’s done hearing the word “no” and will push boundaries even Ryan himself doesn’t dare cross.

Love is never more tempting than when it’s forbidden.
Read on for my review ...

A mafia/ Biker book packed into one. Nice.
Alex is the daughter of a mob leader. She is forced to live in a world where she has no choices, no voice, and in a world of violence.
The novels starts off with Alex at a family funeral in her home. Where he none biological uncle has been shot in the throat for ratting them out.
Its when she over hears her father marrying her off to one of his top soldiers that she realise's she has no say what-so-ever over anything in her life. Later on she is taken out by the man and is thrown into a middle of a shoot out between her family and enemy. She tries to protect her cousin who is lying on the floor bleeding when shots ring out and is covered by her twin brother in protection. Leaving him to be shot in the mean time. He leaves telling her where he is going with no-other explanation. Leading her to worry more for his safety. Her family shielded her from men business and new nothing but the basics of what she should do. One thing that the mob had also enforced was to never talk about family business to anyone on the outside.
So when a cop she thinks is on her fathers pay role turns up at the scene pleading his case that her brother is stepping into danger and he needs to protect him she reveals his were-a-bouts. Its only when she is at hospital watching over a badly sot cousin that she realises what she has done.
she ratted out her family.

I seriously loved the novel. It started off with Action, finished mildly with action.
Although the romance between Ryan and Alex wasn't epic, it was real and it was raw. I hate the term old lady but this book was different. Alex finds out secrets kept from her and has her whole life changed around. When Ryan treats her like shit the first time they sleep together i was disgusted. Why would she allow him to treat her that way i will never know. Why he even treated her that way in the first place was confusing, but then like i said there story was epic but it was real and fun to read.

The characters were all amazing and i loved Duke a lot and i am glad to see the next in the series is his and Nic's story.
My only negative about the novel was its ending. We never know what truly happens and it all happens so quick, we don't get a feel as to what is going on. Also i want to know what happens to Micheal. Her twin. When they say he's in there safe house it doesn't expand on it. Which is annoying because technically she isn't out of danger. I mean just because they found her doesn't mean they will stop. So that was a disappointment, i was hoping they would bring down the mob.

All in all it was a great read so i gave it a 4*
