Carter Reed By Tijan

Emma decided to skip the gym and went home early. It was the last easy decision she made because she found her roommate being raped by the boyfriend. She had two choices. Call the cops and be killed by his family’s mafia connections or kill him first and hope to survive. There was no choice to her. She killed the bastard first and went to the one person who could protect her. Carter Reed. He’s a weapon for the rivaling mafia family, but he’s also Emma’s secret. Not only was he best friends with her brother, but she’s the reason he became that weapon in the first place.
Read on for my review ....

Tijan is a fantastic author and i am a huge fan of Fallen Crest series. Now Carter Reed was a dark read and is anything but a happy romance novel.
Emma lives with her bestfriend. when Emma comes home to find her bestfriend being raped by her psycho boyfriend, who is family of one of the biggest mafia families. Emma does the one thing she knows she can do to survive, she shoots him. Only they know people are looking for them and for the person responsible for the murder. Emma has no-one but her other best-friend to turn to. He lets them come into his home and tries to comfort Emma friend by sleeping with her making the situation a whole lot worse. They are all on edge knowing its only a matter of time before the mafia find out who killed there son. So she goes to the one person who has connections. Carter Reed.

The first scene in the book is so dark, so disturbing it made my belly turn. That said the whole novel was amazing.
Carter Reed is a dark, broody alpha male and a badass fighter. All he knows is how to kill, and he's good at it.
So he knows he is the only one who can protect Emma, he promised her brother he would.
The attraction between the two is hot !! and i love the new characters Tijan brings in. The story progress and gets more violent, more intense and a lot more going on.
Carter Reed is someone you would want on your good side and not someone you would want to meet down a dark alley. That said the way he is with Emma is adorable. Tijan got down his alpha male down to a capital T. Loved him.

With all that said about the story i must mention the spelling and grammar in this novel was really bad. It seemed like it was rushed, therefore not checked over correctly. It was a shame because the book truly was fantastic. So i haven't rated my review on Tijan writing skills, just her talent for the story plot. I did this because i have read all Tijan novels and even though some have few spelling mistakes they wasn't near as bad as this novel. Hopefully it has been updated and the mistakes have been changed since my copy i brought back in October.
4*
