At peace By Kristen Ashley

Violet Winters once had it all but lost it when her husband was murdered by a criminal madman. During a cold winter night Violet has to leave her warm bed to tell her neighbor to turn the music down. And that’s when she meets sinister, scarred, scarily attractive security specialist, Joe Callahan.

She wants to deny it, but Violet can’t beat back the hunger she feels for Joe so she gives in again and again. Feeling it himself, Joe feeds Vi’s hunger, breaking his own rules to keep her in his bed.

Even though Violet had only one man in her life, she’s sure Joe is giving her the signals and Vi decides she’s ready to take a second chance at life and, maybe, love. But Violet doesn’t know the dark secrets in Joe’s past, secrets so soul-wrenching, they’ve drained him dry. With nothing left to give, Joe’s determined to live his life alone and he breaks Violet’s heart.

Crushed by Joe’s betrayal, Violet comes to terms with the fact that, no matter what signals he gave, Joe was not theirs to win. But Violet’s husband’s murderer is obsessed with her and heartbreak again haunts the door of the Winters home. When it does Joe is forced to face the knowledge that he can’t fight Violet’s pull, she’s under his skin and filled him full to bursting.

Joe needs to win her back and put his life on the line to keep Violet safe. But, having had it all once, can Violet endure losing Joe?
Read on for my review

Everyone has heard of Kristen Ashley awesome novels. Right? Of course you have! if you haven't then you seriously need to get your reading on and download every single one of her novels because seriously she is the shit!!
Love her!!
This novel is another reason as to why she is so awesome.
Loved this book before i had even got through the first chapter.
I read this one before i read the first in the series  for you. Even so i still enjoyed the novel.
The characters as always are funny, strong, full of banter and have a no shit attitude.
I wont go into the book to much because i always think when it comes to KA novels, suspense, surprise and the unknown are what make her books truly amazing. Each book is the same, Alpha male, bad ass, bad guy, damsel in distress but each and everyone have a different story, no matter if certain parts are the same. Everyone is unique, thrilling and just out of this world amazing.

Now onto the book. I found at times in this book Violet needed to speak up, like really speak up. I didn't like the fact in parts she was sleeping with Joe whilst sleeping with Mark.
Seriously, she needed to pick one and stick with it and no matter how much we love both guys we all know Joe is the one. So why he doesn't get his head out his ass is beyond me. They both needed there heads banged together.
That said it fit well in the story. Then there is Joe at times in this book, in fact probably 60% of this book i thought he was a complete d**k. The way he rubbed Nadia in Violets face, not even been a man and sitting her down and telling her its over, he had to go hurt her. Not let her down gently but he stuck the knife in then twisted it for good measure. That said i still wanted them to be together. I know crazy right ?
When Joe finally gets it in his head he wants Violet he thinks he can walk back into her life and she will come running. I understood why she kept making excuses and why she found reasons for them not to be together. She was protecting herself from him. She trusted him once and he threw it in her face with Nadia.
Me personally would have found what he did beyond forgivable but then like all KA men you can't help but love them. There drive to protect their woman. The way they speak to them, lay it out or be sweet its all good.
Loved it. The story behind the romance is good and i loved Kristen had brought kids into the mix from previous relationship, it was nice to see a mother still been able to find love and be accepted for who she is and for the fact she comes with children. The story was beautiful.
5*
