Lovely Vicious By Sara Wolf

Lovely Vicious

Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to the Buttcrack-of-Nowhere Ohio to help her mom escape a bad relationship.

All the girls in her new school want one thing – Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.

Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.

The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.

The game board: East Summit High.

The reward: Something neither of them expected.

This book really did surprise me. In a good way. I was starting to think the long vocabulary would get on my nerves but it didn't it made the book feel more real. Kind of like reading someones journal.
Iris speaks her mind, Literally. She doesn't care who hears her and isn't ashamed of any of it.
She makes the book hilariously funny. Seriously the banter between her and Jack is so funny. Even when she spoke complete babble i couldn't help but laugh.
Although Iris has major insecurity's and has obviously had a tragic past, she still lives her life to the full. Well maybe not completely but she has never let her past consume her to the point she forgot who she was. She may look different but she is still the Iris from three years prior.

The attraction between the characters is simple. Its one of those old wifes tales where if a boy is mean to you, it means he likes you. Vice-versa you get the drift. Apart from that there wasn't really any other open attraction there but it doesn't mean you don't feel the characters drawing closer together.

I haven't got many things left to say but the fact i pretty much adored the book.
Oh no wait .... yes i have. The bloody ending. Who ends a book like that. Towards the end of the book the writing swaps from Iris to Jake leaving us knowing where both stood. So us knowing they sort of love each other. or they do. I don't know.
Anyway it left us with the biggest most excruciating cliff hanger of all times. I will not ruin this for anyone as it will take the bang of the impact away.
I thought i started a stand alone but boy i was wrong.

I hope you all enjoy this read like i did. :)
